For Elementary certification candidates:

Undergraduate degree in a subject content discipline
Lifespan development (3 credits, B or better, must span birth through adolescence)
Courses in the following five areas:
1. English
2. College algebra, pre-calculus or higher
3. Natural science
4. Social science
5. Fine arts OR world language

All courses must be 3 credits with a C or better.

For Secondary candidates:

Undergraduate degree in subject for which certification is sought OR 30 undergraduate credits in subject content area and 9 undergraduate credits in a related area
U.S. History (3 credits, B or better, must span a 50 year period)
Courses in at least five of the following six areas:
1. English
2. Math
3. Natural science
4. Social science
5. Fine arts
6. World language

All courses must be 3 credits with a C or better.

Students can be admitted if they are missing three or less course prerequisites. If you are admitted to the program with missing course prerequisites, you must complete them prior to finishing your certification program.
