Meet education requirements
You’ll need a minimum of a master’s degree from an accredited college or university.

In Connecticut, you must have at least 50 months of appropriate teaching experience.

Complete 18 graduate-level credits after your master’s degree
To become a principal in Connecticut, you must complete 15 graduate-level credits in educational administration. You will also need to complete three credits in special education. You will need a formal recommendation for certification from the graduate institution you attended.
