Why I Teach

I have wanted to be a teacher since fifth grade. With my immediate and nonimmediate family, I have seen the positives and negatives of the education system when dealing with the special education population. I wanted to be a positive role model in the education field. High Road School requires constant parental and family contact/engagement, so being able to connect to the students' families and hear them say I have made a difference keeps me motivated. In my classroom, any progress, no matter how small, is celebrated! I want my students to always remember me as one of their great elementary or middle school teachers.

    Our Mission.
    Catapult Learning provides customized education services for K-12+ students whose needs cannot be adequately addressed in the traditional classroom. We offer programs specifically designed to address autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, emotional disabilities and more. We have locations in Danielson, Hamden, Hartford, New London, Norwalk, Plainfield, Wallingford and Windham.

    Our schools and classrooms are designed to manage behaviors that impede academic achievement, build transferable life skills, generate positive outcomes and move students toward mainstream classroom reintegration whenever possible. Our proven Academic Rotational Model builds a student’s confidence and competence through personalized academic interactions, customized curriculum and state-of-the-art intervention tools.
