Being an educator in Torrington lets me work with a diverse student population. My students and their families inspire me every day, and so do the dynamic group of professionals I work with. It is the sense of community, camaraderie and collaboration in Torrington that makes it such a great place to work.

Why I Teach
Every day as I step through the school building doors, I think to myself, "I am going to be the best teacher I can be today. I will do what is best for my students." When I offer my students choices and positivity, I impact the decisions they make each day. My students inspire and challenge me to keep my expectations high and to understand that each of them deserves an equal opportunity at education. To me, teaching is not about recognition. It is about the knowledge that the connections I make and the lessons I teach can influence children for a lifetime.
